  Bet Block ("we," "our," or "the app") is a self-exclusion tool designed to help individuals voluntarily block

  access to gambling-related websites and applications. This Privacy Policy explains what information we

  collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.

  

  By using Bet Block, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

  2. Information We Collect

  

  2.1 Information You Provide

  - Blocked sites list: Custom domain names you choose to block. These are stored locally on your device. When

  you submit a new site, it may be sent to our administrative review queue to help improve our shared blocklist.

  

  2.2 Automatically Collected Information

• Device events: We record anonymized events such as app installation, subscription type and date, site additions, and use of emergency or administrative features. These records include only the event timestamp and the location data described below.

• Approximate location (IP-based): At the moment of certain events (such as app installation, subscription activation, or use of specific features), we fetch your approximate location (city and country) using your device’s IP address via ipapi.co. We do not collect GPS location or precise coordinates.

• Usage analytics: We use Firebase Analytics to collect anonymized data about how users interact with the app, including feature usage frequency, session duration, and in-app events. Firebase Analytics may use your device’s Advertising ID for this purpose.

• Crash reports: We use Firebase Crashlytics to automatically collect crash reports when the app experiences an unexpected error. These reports include device model, OS version, app version, and a stack trace of the error. No personal data is included.

 

  2.3 Subscription and Billing Information

  

  Bet Block uses Google Play Billing to process all purchases. We do not collect, store, or have access to your

  payment card details. Google processes all transactions and shares with us only the confirmation that a

  purchase was completed. Please refer to Google's Privacy Policy for details on how billing data is handled.

 

  2.4 Push Notification Tokens

  

  If you opt in to receive push notifications, Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) assigns your device a token. This

  token is managed by Firebase and is used solely to deliver notifications about product updates or alerts. We

  do not use this token to track your behavior or identity.

  3. How We Use Your Information

 

  We use the information collected for the following purposes:

 

  - To provide and improve the service: Understanding which features are used helps us improve the effectiveness

   of Bet Block.

  - To maintain our shared blocklist: Sites submitted by users are reviewed by our team and, if approved, added

  to the shared database of gambling-related domains.

  - To send you notifications: If you have enabled push notifications, we may send you alerts related to your

  protection status or app updates.

  - To detect abuse: Aggregate event data helps us identify unusual patterns that may indicate misuse of the

  app.

  - To comply with legal obligations: We may retain data as required by applicable law.

 

  We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or selling to third parties.

4. Permissions and Their Purpose

 

  Bet Block requests the following Android permissions:

  

  VPN Service — Intercepts DNS queries to block gambling websites at the network level.

  

  Accessibility Service — Detects foreground app changes to block selected gambling apps.

  

  Device Administrator — Prevents the app from being uninstalled while protection is active.

  

  Internet — Connects to our blocklist servers and Firebase services.

  

  Post Notifications — Displays alerts about your protection status.

  

  Receive Boot Completed — Restores scheduled time locks after device restart.

  

  Schedule Exact Alarm — Activates weekend time locks at the configured time.

  

  Call Phone — Allows direct calls to emergency contacts you have saved.

  

  Foreground Service — Keeps the VPN blocking service active in the background.

  

  None of these permissions are used to collect personal data beyond what is described in Section 2.

  5. VPN Usage Disclosure

  

  Bet Block uses Android's VPN API exclusively to intercept and block DNS queries to gambling-related domains.

  We do not:

  

  - Monitor, log, or transmit the content of your internet traffic

  - Collect your browsing history

  - Inspect any data beyond the domain name being queried

  - Route your traffic through our servers — all filtering happens locally on your device

 

  The VPN functionality operates entirely on-device. No network traffic is sent to Bet Block servers as part of

  the blocking mechanism.

 

 

  6. Accessibility Service Disclosure

  

  Bet Block uses Android's Accessibility Service solely to detect which app is currently in the foreground. When

   a blocked app is detected, Bet Block displays a blocking screen. We do not:

  

  - Read, capture, or transmit screen content

  - Record keystrokes or form inputs

  - Access the content of any application

  - Monitor your device usage for any purpose other than app blocking

  7. Data Sharing

  

  We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share data in the following limited

  circumstances:

  

  - Service providers: We use Firebase (Google) for database storage (Firestore), push notification delivery (FCM), usage analytics (Firebase Analytics), and crash reporting (Crashlytics). Firebase processes data according to Google’s Privacy  Policy and Data Processing Terms.

  - IP geolocation: Approximate location is fetched via ipapi.co at the moment of certain events. Please review

  ipapi.co's privacy policy for details.

  - Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or governmental authority.

 

  

  8. Data Retention

  

  - On-device data (emergency contacts, blocked sites, blocked apps, time lock settings): Retained on your

  device until you delete it or uninstall the app.

  - Server-side event records (installation events, subscription events, location-tagged events): Retained for

  up to 24 months for operational and analytics purposes, then deleted.

  - Push notification tokens: Managed by Firebase and subject to their retention policies.

 

 

  9. Children's Privacy

  

  Bet Block is designed for use by adults who wish to voluntarily restrict their own access to gambling content.

   We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If you believe a child

  has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

  10. Security

  

  We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information stored on our servers,

  including encryption in transit (HTTPS) and access controls. However, no method of transmission over the

  internet or electronic storage is 100% secure.

 

  All sensitive blocking logic (VPN filtering, app detection) runs entirely on your device and is never

  transmitted to external servers.

  11. Your Rights

  

  Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:

 

  - Access: Request a copy of the event data associated with your device.

  - Deletion: Request deletion of server-side data associated with your device.

  - Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data.

  - Opt-out of notifications: Disable push notifications at any time through the app's notification settings or

   top of this page. Continued use of Bet Block after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the
